The diameter of the cue tip at the front end is usually between 11 and 13 millimeters; most professionals choose a 13-mm tip because it provides a wider contact area. In general, domestically made snooker cues are not only too thin—often only about 7 to 10 millimeters in diameter—but also too short, making them ill-suited for artistic billiards. Beyond an elegant manual, a high-quality cue is also crafted from advanced materials. Owning a good Chinese billiards cue doesn’t necessarily mean you have to buy one; what truly matters is that it fits you perfectly. Choose a cue that suits you and treat it with care! Typically, cues are designed in two sections for easy portability, but not all such designs are ideal. Aside from being straight, the key to selecting a cue lies in the quality of the leather tip.
